Mother’s Day Gift Ideas: What to Buy Your Mum, Aunties and Mother Figures this Mother’s Day.

As Jarrod says, “all Mums love gin, let’s be honest!” So why not pick up a bottle for the perfect Mother’s Day gift for your special Mum. From citrus-forward to fruity sloe tipples, we’ve given you our guide to gifting gin this Mother’s Day.

What is the best rum?

“My first answer would be the one that’s in my glass… or a free rum!” Wyatt quips. But there really is no one-answer-fits-all approach to this question. Ask yourself what you want to do with rum. Do you want a snifter? Something to sip on? A cocktail? A mixed drink? It’s about your taste and then pairing a rum to it.

If your Mum loves citrus, gift these gins:

  • Lemon –  Whisk your Mum away to Italy with the Malfy Con Limone Gin. Full of light and bright notes of citrus, Malfy uses lemons from the picturesque Amalfi Coast to create a lip-smacking gin that will have you all enjoying afternoon spritzes.
  • Lime – Wow your Mum with a gold medal gin that places native Australian ingredients front and centre with the Seven Seasons Green Ant Gin. Created by proud Larrakia man, Daniel Motlop, this gin uses native green ants at the start and end of the distillation process to produce a beautiful lime and coriander flavour.
  • Orange – If oranges are more her citrus of choice, then the Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin is a no brainer. Pairing real oranges with the perfect blend of spice — cardamom, star anise and Tasmanian pepperberry leaf to name a few — this award-winning gin has shone on the world stage and it continues to be a popular choice when stirring up delicious gin and tonics.

If your Mum loves spice, try these gins:

  1. What do you get when you combine a baker with a distiller? The Kangaroo Island Spiced Pudding Gin! Hints of cinnamon and clove from an old family Christmas pudding recipe combine to produce a smooth and sweet gin. Made to be enjoyed on the rocks, or even drizzled over scoops of icecream, this is a special spirit from one of Australia’s most iconic destinations.
  2. Aromatic and ready to pack a punch, Four Pillars Spiced Negroni Gin is designed for those who love a negroni cocktail. West African spice grains of paradise and Indonesian cubeb give this gin a special edge.

If your Mum loves fruity flavours, try these gins:

  1. With beautiful notes of raspberry, grapefruit and juniper berries, the Forty Spotted Raspberry and Rose Botanical Spirit brings tangy fruitiness in a unique bottle that’s made to be gifted. Its lower alcohol content also makes it the perfect choice for long afternoons of spritzes in the sun.
  2. The Hoshi Japanese Gin is essential for the Pear Vanilla Gin Fizz, but the Hoshi Japanese Pink Gin is perfect for Mums who love a fruity G&T. Bursting with notes of summer berries, this is a fresh and fragrant addition to every bar cart.
  3. Combining tart sloe berries with the tropical floral aromas of Australian rosellas (think, hibiscus flowers) the Ink Sloe and Berry Gin Liqueur is a bold and fruity choice to elevate your Mum’s next G&T. Add to cart, pronto!
