A First for First Choice Liquor Market — Our Flagship Tassie Store is Open!

We kicked-off 2024 by arriving to the shores of the Tamar River with an exciting opening of First Choice Liquor Market in Launceston.

Home to the iconic wineries, cideries and distilleries scattered throughout the beautiful Tamar Valley, we appreciate that the people of Launceston know a good tipple when they see one. Which is why we’ve brought all the old faithfuls and a bunch of our new fave drops under the one roof in our great value for money hub!

Our shelves are stocked with +1,500 wines, +800 spirits and +240 craft beers, bringing you the best from abroad as well as home, making it easier than ever to shop the big names and local drops that you know and love. From the Huon to Stanley and everywhere in between, look out for +70 beers, +50 gins and +130 wines that are proudly Tassie born and bred.

The best of the Apple Isle: the latest Tassie drops to have on your radar

At the grand opening of our Launceston store, we served up tastings of the latest in exciting Tassie exports, giving crowds the chance to try before they buy and get out of their comfort zone. Keep the inspiration going and give one of these delicious drops a try!

  • Spreyton Cider Co.

Tassie is called the Apple Isle for a reason and the family behind Spreyton Cider Co. have been growing fruit in the picturesque valleys of the Mersey River for four generations. While you’re probably already familiar with this Tassie household name, they’ve got a host of flavours — from sour cherry, pear, and apple and raspberry — for you to taste and add to your cider rotation.

  • White Label Distillery.

This state-of-the-art distillery is home to a number of gin, vodka and whisky labels that make the most of Tassie’s pristine waters and unique homegrown ingredients. The special taste of Vodi and the fun range of era-inspired gins from Gineration Gin are just a few of the up and coming names that have been produced at White Label Distillery.

  • Callington Mill Distillery.

As it began to pave the way for the future of Tasmanian whiskey, Callington Mill Distillery gained countless awards to its name along the way. Fusion, Invicta and El Sol are just a few of their standout single malt whiskeys that we recommend giving a go!

Don’t call Launceston home? Here’s some other iconic island names to pick up at your local First Choice Liquor Market.

Lark. As the distillery that put Tassie on the map amongst whiskey connoisseurs, Lark doesn’t need much by way of an introduction. In fact, its founder, Bill Lark, is known as the ‘Godfather of Australian Whiskey.’ They’re also the team behind Forty Spotted, and trust us, their gin is just as delicious as their whiskey. Both make excellent ideas for a last-minute but thoughtful gift — you can thank us later!

James Boags. Nothing screams Tassie quite like a James Boag’s Premium Lager. Drink like a Launnie local with this malty yet smooth, thirst-quenching lager. Stock up for your next BBQ or camping trip here.

Pure Origin. Transforming Tassie’s pure waters into velvety-smooth vodka and gin, Pure Origin have fast become a big name on the island and beyond. If you ask us, we’ve got our eye on their award-winning Pink Gin!
